Welcome to the Kaminari Taiko of Houston Homepage!
Kaminari Taiko is a Japanese drumming ensemble based in Houston, Texas. You may have seen us at our annual feature performance, the Grand Taiko Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre, or at one of the many festivals and cultural events we participate in across the country.
If you're interested in learning more about who we are and what we do, check out this new short documentary on Kaminari Taiko created by Carl Rosa, director of the Japan-America Initiative. For more info on the JAI, visit JAIH.org.
Want to give taiko a try yourself? Kaminari Taiko offers classes for students at all levels, and your first class is free! Check out the Lessons tab for more information.
