Kaminari Outreach Programs

Kaminari Taiko offers a variety of exciting educational taiko programs suitable for all ages. Kaminari's very own original taiko workshop program have been tested and highly praised by teachers, parents and children. Our workshop programs have exceeded 100,000 audiences in over 20 major cities.

Taiko Workshops for Public Events - High energy interactive taiko show for adults and children. This program combines powerful taiko performance including a number with Japanese demon masks. The program combines informative taiko history, learn simple Japanese vocabulary and high energy taiko cheering contest with the audience.

Taiko Clinic Workshop for terminally ill children with disabilities - Fun-filled high energy program includes a combination of intense and comical taiko performances, taiko history, learn simple Japanese words, taiko cheering contest and hands on taiko lessons.

Public School Taiko Classes - Comprehensive taiko curriculum for beginners to intermediate classes. Taiko history, taiko terminologies, discipline, posture, basic rhythm, traditional taiko numbers with taiko choreography - capability to performing on stage. Once per week annual program (two semesters).

Taiko History and Demonstration Lecture for universities and social organizations - Informative 2000 year history of Japanese taiko history, taiko evolution, taiko terminologies, taiko display and demonstration of different taiko models to hear its tone variation and taiko performance.

Kaminari's Scheduled Outreach Ptograms Camp for All

Camp for All is a unique camping and retreat facility that works in partnership with special needs groups to enrich the lives of people with chronic illness and disabilities. Campers of all ages and abilities gain self-esteem and independence while having fun, learning new skills and bonding with others who share their challenges. The Camp hosts eleven one-week camps for children with a variety of illness and disabilities. Kaminari hosts taiko clinics workshops for the campers.

Kolter Elementary School Taiko Curriculum

Popular Taiko Curriculum began in 2002 has grown to three classes. 3rd to 5th grade students at the Kolter Elementary School learn basic taiko rhythms once per week. Many students find themselves on stage with the Kaminari performers at the local festivals and school performances.
